The Director General of ITSO is honored to invite all Parties to the Agreement relating to the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization to a Pre-Event to be held on the occasion of the 38th Assembly of Parties (AP-38). The 2018 ITSO Symposium will take place on June 12, 2018 from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm, at the same location of the AP-38.
Symposium Brief
It is increasingly evident that widespread access to information and communication technologies (ICTs), especially broadband, is necessary for sustainable development. Consequently ICTs have been recognized as integral to the achievement of the UN’s SDGs. However, more than half of the world’s population remains unconnected as of today and as such cannot take advantage of the availability of various vital services. The 2018 ITSO Symposium will demonstrate how satellite technology plays a key role in universalizing broadband coverage and broadens the conversation on how to achieve our common goals through ICTs.

38TH ASSEMBLY OF PARTIES (AP-38)

The Director General would like to inform all Parties to the ITSO Agreement that the Thirty-Eighth Meeting of the Assembly of Parties (AP-38) is scheduled for 13-15 June 2018 in Washington D.C., USA.
AP-38 will be a paperless meeting. No printed documents will be distributed to the participants during the meeting. The Director General encourages the participants to bring their own laptop computer or tablet to access the IAC documents.
